Governor Jay Inslee announced the appointment of Michael Itti as the executive director of the Washington State Commission on Asian Pacific American Affairs. Itti is a second generation Thai-Chinese American born and raised in Washington.

“I am honored to be a voice for Asian and Pacific Islander Americans and represent the needs of our diverse community,” Itti said. “I look forward to working in partnership with the community to promote equity in education, economic opportunity and access to health care for members of our community.”

Itti will advise the Governor, the Legislature, state agencies and local government on policies, programs and needs of the Asian Pacific American community.

Prior to joining the Win/Win Network, he worked to promote civic engagement as a staff member for the Legislature and an education advocate for the League of Education Voters.

Itti serves as a council member for the Seattle Chinatown International District Preservation and Development Authority and is a former board member for the Greater Seattle Chinese Chamber of Commerce.
